- Applications are submitted entirely online at gov.uk, never through a third-party portal or agent website
- Applicants with a biometric passport usually verify their identity through the UK Immigration: ID Check app on their own phone
- Applicants without a compatible passport book a short appointment at a UKVCAS centre in India to give fingerprints and a photograph

- Any tuition fees that are still left to be paid after deducting the amount already paid and mentioned on the CAS.
- Proof of £1,529 per month for study in London or £1,171 per month outside London, for up to 9 months.

The Genuine Student requirement evaluates whether an applicant is coming to the UK to study rather than for another purpose.
It focuses on:
- Study motivation: why this course, at this level, in the UK rather than elsewhere
- Course relevance: how the course connects logically to past academic history
- Career planning: how the qualification supports future goals
- Financial credibility: whether the funding pattern matches the applicant's declared background
A strong response is:
- Clear
- Specific to the course and university
- Consistent with the documents already submitted
- Free of contradictions with any previous visa history
